About Us

The Labor Force unites all workers, allies, and activists to strengthen the labor movement through groundbreaking organizing and strategic partnerships.

To do this, we partner with a variety of organizations–trade unions, indie unions, coalition campaigns, and community organizations–to develop and test new interventions and approaches in organizing and campaigning, and create accessible ways to bring all workers, unionized or not, into the labor movement.

Our public advocacy and distributed organizing programs build worker power by engaging the public on a wide array of labor movement campaigns. We collaborate with labor groups to mobilize activists to take meaningful actions to complement what’s happening on the ground in those campaigns, from donations and digital actions to rallies, know-your-rights events, and the picket line.

Our partnerships with independent unions provide ongoing pro-bono capacity building support to worker-led and independent labor groups including Sports Solidarity, Blue Bottle Independent Union, Trader Joe’s United, Carolina Amazonians United for Solidarity and Empowerment (C.A.U.S.E.)., and others. We tailor support to the specific needs of these groups, which can range from 1:1 coaching and mentorship to skills-based trainings and securing expert assistance with accounting, fundraising, communications, legal counsel, and more.

Our in-house network of specialists provides short-term support and expertise to labor campaigns across the U.S.. We’ve assembled some of the best and brightest labor technologists, data engineers, front-end developers, UX designers, peer-to-peer organizers, and more to collaboratively improve the speed, scale, and impact of labor campaigns.

Additionally, we are always experimenting with ways to build a stronger labor movement. For example, Our WORX (Worker Organizing Research Exchange) program is developing a cooperative data infrastructure to support and amplify the current surge in labor organizing efforts.
